Bad River gathering in support of shutting down Enbridge Line 5

Water protectors gathers on Saturday, May 27 at the Bad River on the Highway 2 bridge and State easement—a couple dozen Bad River (the river) allies a couple miles downstream from the endangered meander.

Of the 10,036 Memorial Day cars that drove by starting at noon, 1,124 honked their horn or gave a thumbs up, sometimes everyone in the car. Two middle fingers, one thumbs down, one shaking head (only counts for a half a point) and one double finger thrown in.

We win by a very large margin. We appreciate the Ashland County law enforcement officer who stopped by and slowed the traffic down for us for a while. We appreciate the Bad River (the reservation) people who offered their generous honking help!
