Join us on Mooningwaane’akaaning (Madeline Island - The Home of the Yellow Breasted Flicker) for the 171st commemoration of the signing of the 1854 Treaty the weekend of Sept. 26th-28th and on Treaty Day Sept. 30th, 2025. Come celebrate the Treaties that help protect our clean water and natural resources of Northern, Wisconsin.

Friday, Sept. 26th, 2025 - Indigenous arts and craft vendors at Flicker House and Joni’s Beach. Evening non-profits Music Fundraiser at Tom's Burned Down Cafe (TBA) “Songs for the Water”

Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025: 9am-9pm - 690 Main Street - Clean Treaty Resource Celebration - Front Forest of the Flicker House and Joni's Beach with Great Lakes Lifeways Institute —Indigenous Watercraft Beauty Contest, (Voting will be by dropping a garden, harvest or canned good product into the vessel/s that you judge as your favorite/s. Voting Donations will be donated to local food shelves) flint-napping, black ash basket weaving, Native vendors with art, crafts, cuisine and trade.

Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025: 4-5:30pm - Native Artists Reception at La Pointe Arts Gallery, Artwork by Michael Laughing Fox Charette, Ramona Morrow, Scott Hill, Lynn Tribble, Frank Montano, Rod Hill, Patti Stueber and Carolyn DeMain

Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025: 6-7pm -Flicker House Community Potluck Feast
Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025: 6-7pm - Flicker HouseOpen Lodge Community Music Mic.

Sunday Sept. 28th, 2025, Manitou Makoons Farm and Tiny House Build tours 10am and 12 noon. Vendors and socializing at Flicker House and Joni’s Beach.

Sunday Sept. 28th, 2025: 1-2:30PM - History Tour to MedweweKaming from Flicker House 1pm-2:30pm.

Monday, Sept. 29th, 2025 - Chippewa Federation at Red Cliff.

Tuesday, Sept. 30th, 2025 - Treaty Day events by Chippewa Federation/Red Cliff on Madeline Island. Morning ceremonies at Chiefs Burial Grounds at Marina.

On-site activities at the Madeline Island Museum Sept. 26th-Sept. 30th, 2025, are yet to be announced.

The Flicker House and Joni’s Beach are found at 690 Main Street downtown La Pointe.
