Bus to Dakota Access Pipeline

Come join us on a bus from Minneapolis to Bismarck, ND for an important public comment meeting about the Dakota Access Pipeline – DAPL!

On November 1, 2023, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a meeting in Bismarck to gather public input on the newly released Environmental Impact Statement for the Dakota Access Pipeline -- DAPL. Our friends in the ongoing NoDAPL fight have invited allies to show up, speak out, and be heard!

We’re leaving on the morning of Wednesday, November 1, and will be back home in the early morning on November 2. Tickets are name-your-own-price. Reserve your seat today!

The Dakota Access Pipeline has been operating for several years but is still being contested by the Standing Rock Tribe which is seeking to have the pipe shut down. DAPL faced immense international opposition during construction, with tens of thousands of people joining in resistance on the ground. This new EIS comes from the Standing Rock Tribe’s continuing legal fight against the project.

The bus leaves on: Wednesday, November 1 – check in between 8-8:30am at the MN350 office, 4407 E Lake St in Minneapolis (easy & free parking nearby, on the 21 bus line)

The public meeting is: 6-9pm, hosted by the Army Corps at the Radisson Hotel in Bismarck

We’ll return to Minneapolis: around 5:30am on Thursday, November 2, after overnight travel home

RESERVE YOUR SEAT ON THE BUS

All attendees are encouraged to speak out and make your voice heard! We will follow up before the trip with more information about the EIS to help you craft your comments. While testifying is highly encouraged, you do not need to plan to testify in order to attend the meeting. Here is information directly from the Army Corps about the meeting and the EIS.

This will be a less-than-24-hour round trip on a coach bus with a bathroom, reading lights, and slightly reclining seats. All tickets are pay-what-you-can – on the ticketing page, you can select the amount that works for you, including free. Our #1 priority is making sure that anyone who wants to travel can. Please join us at whatever level your financial circumstances comfortably allow.

Share the Facebook event and forward this email to others who may be interested to come! See answers to more common questions on the bus ticketing page. Together, we can show up powerfully for Standing Rock and continue to speak out against DAPL.

Thanks for keeping the climate justice movement moving,

Andy Pearson, MN350
