Join us on the weekend of June 17-18 to walk part of Enbridge's proposed expansion of the Line 5 pipeline, learn what's put at risk by the proposal, practice identifying endangered species, and meet others who are concerned! The weekend of events will take place in various parts of Ashland County.
Schedule of Events
Friday: Solidarity Rally for Shutting Down Line 5, Come join us in solidarity to shut down Enbridge Line 5!, Memorial Park422 3rd Street West Ashland, 4 PM - 6 PM
Saturday:
1-3:00 PM: Arrive, meet others, check in to your campsite if you'd like, etc
3:00 PM: Training on how to document rare and sensitive species, followed by practice hike
5:30 PM: Potluck and Water Ceremony, Discussion/Strategizing
8:00 PM Campfire, star gazing, and firefly watching
Sunday:
8:00 AM: Pancake Breakfast
10:00 - 1:00 PM: Choose your own adventure!
- Hiking/Species Monitoring
- Hike at Copper Falls
- Self-Guided Tour in Groups
Accommodations:
- Carpools are being organized from Madison, Milwaukee, and other cities with enough interest. We will contact you to confirm whether or not there is enough interest for a carpool in your area.
- Group campsites are being booked, so let us know if you'd like to join the group camping; first-come, first serve
